CPT lacks any legal basis to force the dismissal of Foreign Affairs and Worship Minister Dominique Dupuy.

HAITI

The meeting between Garry Conille and the council presidents has just concluded, with a single item on the agenda: the fate of Foreign Affairs and Worship Minister Dominique Dupuy, whose dismissal is being demanded. According to our sources, the Prime Minister firmly rejected this request. The discussions only deepened the divide between the head of the government and the members of the Transitional Presidential Council (CPT), exacerbating a crisis that threatens to escalate further.

Our sources indicate that the CPT lacks any legal basis to force the dismissal of a minister, yet it remains determined to see Dominique Dupuy removed, citing her stance against the mass deportations of Haitians by the Dominican Republic as too uncompromising. So far, the council presidents have not publicly addressed the wave of deportations affecting Haitian migrants on their official channels, leaving their willingness to tackle this sensitive issue in question.
