Ron DeSantis Faces Boos at Jacksonville Vigil Following Tragic Florida Shooting with Racial Motivations.

JACKSONVILLE - FL.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida encountered a chorus of disapproval from mourners gathered at a vigil in Jacksonville, held to honor the memory of three individuals who lost their lives in a racially motivated assault.

The victims, a woman and two men, fell victim to a tragic incident perpetrated by a 21-year-old white individual named Ryan Palmeter, whose deep-seated animosity towards Black individuals fueled his actions. Angela Michelle Carr, 52, Anolt Joseph “AJ” Laguerre Jr, 19, and Jarrald De’Shaun Gallion, 29, were the names of the lives tragically cut short by this event.

As Governor DeSantis took to the podium to address the attendees of the vigil on that somber Sunday, his words were met with a cascade of boos from the crowd, which comprised well over a hundred individuals. The intensity of the response compelled Mr. DeSantis to retreat from the microphone momentarily.

Stepping into the scene, Ju'Coby Pittman, a representative on the Jacksonville city council, serving the community where the tragedy unfolded, intervened to urge the crowd to lend their ears.

The tragedy unfolded at a Dollar General store located just a few blocks away from the historically Black Edward Waters University, adding a layer of sorrow to the already heartbreaking incident.

In the lead-up to the assailant's rampage, his parents contacted law enforcement after stumbling upon a manifesto. It was revealed that the gunman had phoned his parents prior to the attack, instructing them to examine the contents of his computer.

Sheriff TK Waters spared no condemnation in characterizing these writings as representative of a "repugnant ideology of hatred."
